  2. Ingredients
  3. Puff pastry
  4. Raw cacao powder

  5. 2 apples (I prefer Jazz variety)

  6. 50g unsalted butter

  7. Sprinkle of castor sugar

  8. Sprinkle of cinnamon powder

  10. Directions

  11. Cut the puff pastry in a heart shape by tracing around a bowl at one corner and then mirror the shape on the other side. Sprinkle raw cacao directly onto the pastry. Peel, remove seeds and thinly slice the apples, then decoratively line each slice to form a nice layering pattern on the heart. Sprinkle the top with sugar, cinnamon and put small cubes of butter evenly around the surface. Place in a pre-heated oven at 190 degrees for 25 minutes or until the tart is baked. The base should be crusty and the top should be a beautiful warm colour. Serve with double cream or as is, straight from the oven.
