CARLA OATES – founder of the beauty chef, WELLBEING AUTHOR AND MOTHER OF TWO – has created an EAT-PRETTY PHILOSOPHY that I love; it's perfect when you're in need of a little pick-me-up. HERE, two of HER inner/outer diy BEAUTY RECIPES

  1. IN: THE BEAUTY CHEF'S SPICED AUTUMN smoothie

  3. Smoothie Ingredients
  4. •  ⅓ cup (30 g) rolled oats, soaked in cold water, drained & rinsed
  • •  1 frozen banana, coarsely chopped
  • •  1 scoop TBC vanilla BODY powder
  • •  1 ½ tablespoons almond butter
  • •  1 teaspoon raw honey
  • •  ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • •  ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
  • •  ¼ teaspoon finely ground black pepper
  • •  ½ cup (125 ml) almond milk

Method: To prepare the smoothie bowl, place all of the ingredients in a high-speed blender. Blend until smooth.

  1. Pour smoothie into a shallow bowl.

  3. Honey Granola Ingredients
  4. 2 tablespoons rolled oats
  5. 1 tablespoon flaked almonds
  6. 1 tablespoon coarsely chopped Brazil nuts
  7. 1 tablespoon coarsely chopped walnuts
  8. 3 teaspoons raw honey
  9. 2 teaspoons pumpkin seeds
  10. 2 teaspoons sunflower seeds
  11. 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  12. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

To prepare the honey granola, place all of the ingredients together in a medium bowl and toss to combine. Spread out onto a baking tray, clumping together to form clusters. Bake, stirring frequently for 10 minutes, or until crisp and golden brown.
Remove from the oven and set aside to cool. To the smoothie bowl, add Honey Granola and toppings – torn fresh figs, bee pollen (not suitable for those with bee allergies) and Marigold petals.
